![]() It was worse when I tried to play like a Tier V Cruiser with my Tier VIII Atago. ![]() When I took Tier VII Atlanta, I applied my Tier IV and V Light Cruiser experience to her and got obliterated. Yeah, it gets easier to punish people at range, but remember it goes the other way also. ![]() A major difference as you climb the tiers is how lethal firepower gets at longer ranges, how easier it gets to punish people at ranges you couldn't even dream of in a Tier III game. At 36 Battles, if you jump straight into say, Tier VII, VIII, etc matches, you'll be overwhelmed with what ships and players do there compared to what you've seen in low tiers. Playing Tier IV is nothing at all like what Tier VIII-X is like. As you get higher and higher in the tiers you'll see immense changes to ship capabilities and how people play. My suggestion? Gain experience with Tech Tree Ships, take a line or two to Tier X. It was bad enough that I regretted my purchases at the time. I played ATL and Atago in tiers that were way out of my league and got smashed into pieces. I loved it so much that when my highest tier of experience was Tier V CL Omaha, I went and bought Tier VII Atlanta and Tier VIII Atago. I know the excitement you have now, I remember that feeling as a new player. ![]() I love my Alabama and did very well with her even in Tier X games. Just saying, I and wondering about which one since I've heard a lot about these ships Thanks! Plus, you need a lot more battles before you are ready for tier VIII. This will give you a chance to find out what type of ships you like and can save you some buyer’s remorse in the future. My advice, wait until you have many more battles before you invest in a tier VIII premium. NC has more health and slightly better accuracy while Alabama is more maneuverable and has better torpedo protection. She has the same nine 406mm guns (Flandre has 380mm) that can overmatch 27mm plating. ![]() TLDR (but seriously, read it form your own opinion): Flandre is pretty “plain” in comparison to the other French options at tier VIII: she’s a down-tiered Alsace with 3/4 the firepower and none of the consumables that define high tier French BBs.Īlabama is a much older ship and plays much like NC in the tech tree. That being said:įlandre is pretty new, so fortunately there is a fairly recent, comprehensive review by LWM: ![]()
